Monterey Trail stuns Folsom in overtime

   The Monterey Trail Mustangs took on the undefeated Folsom Bulldogs in their second Delta River League match-up.  Both team fresh off stunning wins would collide for a much exciting game.  Folsom came out strong putting up the first points of the game.  Monterey Trail was down 14-7 at the half.  Big hits by the Mustangs shifted the momentum going into the fourth.  #30 Sedale Hunter ran for 11 yards were he was stopped at the 1 yrd line.  #21 Mustang QB Michael Calvan forced his way into the end zone for the score.  The score was tied at the end of regulation at 14 a piece. 

   Folsom had the ball going into overtime.  First play in overtime, Folsom's QB Dano Graves connects with WR Kori Babineaux for the touchdown.  With the extra point good the score was at 21-14 Folsom.  Monterey Trail pounded the ball from the 1-yard line to take the score up to 21-20.  With a two point conversion the Mustangs could win the ball game.  From the 1-yard line Drake Tofi fought his way in for the touchdown.  The Mustangs had beaten the Folsom Bulldogs 22-21.  Fans erupted in cheer as the Mustangs corralled all over Folsom's Territory.  On the sidelines the Folsom Bulldogs pouted as they lost a dramatic game.  Mustangs are now on a 6-game win streak,2-0 in league as they face their next opponent the Pleasant Grove Eagles.
