"We wanted to get some momentum heading into the playoffs and I think we did that," said Del Oro head coach Casey Taylor after the game. After losing two in a row to Woodcreek and Rocklin, it was imperative that the Golden Eagles end the regular season on a high note. End it on a high note they did, as they steam rolled over the Oakmont Vikings 56-8.
Running back Bryce Pratt led the way with four touchdowns and 118 yards rushing. His backup, Ibrahim Abukhdair, had 66 yards on the ground with two touchdowns of his own, one for 47 yards. Quarterback Max Magleby had two touchdown passes, both going to wide receiver Spencer Butterfield.
Oakmont saved a shutout with a Michael Garrison 49-yard run late in the 4th quarter.
Oakmont finished 5-5 on the season, much improved from from last year, when they finished 2-8.
Del Oro finished 8-2 improving from a 4-6 record last year. The Golden Eagles are the 8th seed in the Division II Playoffs and play the Christian Brothers Falcons. A Golden Eagles victory would likely set up a huge matchup with the St. Mary's Rams.
Lincoln QB Brandon Gildea finds Branden Cooks for an impressive 25-yard touchdown.
This game definitely belongs to the Trojans, as they beat Chavez 56-to-7.
In week 10 the Granite Bay Grizzlies had to defend their cave as the Timberwolves tried to come in and take victory.
In the second half, Devaunte Bolton of the Grizzlies, takes the ball and is gone down the field into the end-zone, with a 39-yard run.
Granite Bay gets the victory beating Woodcreek 34-to-10.
The Dixon Rams shook up the Rio Linda Knights and won yet another game.
Dixon?33 to Rio Linda 28.
